Sparrow Peak’s European Walnut Butcher Blocks offers a rich variety of color from medium to dark brown, to nearly black, with lighter brown contrasting stripes. Its irregular grain and cloudy coloring lends itself as a a great way to decorate with wood. This European Walnut Wood top is a product of nature and will display characteristics that are unique to each piece.
As a very popular, durable and versatile hardwood, this European Walnut countertop is avaialbe in two thicknesses: 1-inch and 1.5 inch. They all come unfinished and can be customized for your needs. Apply wood sealer to the top, bottom, and all edges of raw wood within 48 hours of removing from packaging.
- Appearance & Color: The sapwood is grey-white to reddish-white, the heartwood is light grey, mouse-grey to dark brown occasionally with colored stripes
- Grain & Texture: irregular grain and cloudy coloring lends itself as a decorative wood
- Machinability: Easy to work with both machine and hand tools, has a high cutting resistance and may dull blades more noticeably
- Finishing: When sanded and finished, it produces an excellent smooth finish
