Commercial Litigation Associate | New York | 5+ Years | $220k-$250k + Bonus

AJ Chambers are delighted to be working with a highly regarded New York law firm seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney / Commercial Litigation Associate to join its sophisticated litigation practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a 5+ year New York litigator with strong experience handling complex commercial disputes. Experience involving real estate litigation, construction litigation or disputes involving real estate and development is particularly valuable.

The role offers significant responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-value disputes alongside an established litigation team.

About the Role

The successful attorney will handle complex commercial litigation and business disputes, with meaningful exposure to real estate and construction related matters.

Attorneys will have substantial involvement throughout the litigation lifecycle, from case assessment and discovery through motions, depositions, hearings, settlement and trial.

Responsibilities

\n
• Manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
\n
• Draft and argue motions and substantive briefs
\n
• Take and defend depositions
\n
• Manage discovery, including document review, production and e-discovery
\n
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy
\n
• Prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, arbitrations and trials
\n
• Participate in hearings, trials and evidentiary proceedings
\n
• Handle settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution
\n
• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
\n
• Work independently while collaborating closely with partners and other attorneys
\n
• Manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
\n

Must Have

\n
• 5+ years of complex commercial litigation experience
\n
• Strong experience with complex civil and commercial disputes
\n
• Experience drafting and arguing motions
\n
• Significant deposition experience
\n
• Strong discovery and e-discovery experience
\n
• Witness preparation experience
\n
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
\n
• Strong knowledge of New York civil procedure
\n
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters
\n
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
\n
